Our grants programme is designed to reduce financial barriers and uplift young mums on their journey – and support those who care for them.

There are three types of grants available, each designed with a unique purpose to empower, equip, and encourage - whether through education, wellbeing, or practical resources. Below, you’ll find everything you need to know about what each grant offers, the criteria for applying and how the process works.

empower her
To empower a young mum to take her next step in education, training or personal development. Grants up to $2,500. ​Examples of what can be funded: - Course fees or enrolment costs - Driving lessons - First Aid certification - Study support (e.g. devices, stationery, online access - Childcare costs while attending education/training ​Criteria: 1. Must be a young mum or currently pregnant (under the age of 24) 2. Must reside in New Zealand 3. Must be enrolled or planning to enrol in study or training within the next 6 months 4. Must demonstrate commitment and clear goals Reporting requirements: 1. A short impact story (written, video, or interview) from the applicant or referrer 2. Confirmation of enrolment or participation 3. Optional: a photo/s (with consent) for our publication use e.g. newsletters, website, reports, social media and other publications
equip her
To provide practical, tangible support for young mothers and their pēpi. Grants up to $2,500. Examples of what can be funded: - Safe sleep items (cot, bedding, sleep sacks) - Grocery packages or pantry stocking - Baby care items (clothing, bottles, nappies) - Winter essentials (sleepwear, blankets) - Clothing or hygiene packs for mum Criteria: 1. Must be a young mum or currently pregnant (under the age of 24) 2. Must reside in New Zealand 3. Facing financial hardship or limited support 4. Requires referral or endorsement by a social worker, midwife, or support worker Reporting requirements: 1. A short impact story (written, video, or interview) from the applicant or referrer. 2. Confirmation of delivery or purchase 3. Optional: a photo/s (with consent) for our publication use e.g. newsletters, website, reports, social media and other publications
encourage her
To support those who are actively caring, equipping and empowering young mums – especially during pregnancy or early parenting. Grants up to $1,500. ​Examples of what can be funded: - Resources for parenting support groups - Tools for midwives, youth workers, or support programmes - Hospital care packs for teen mums - Special events or pamper nights for young parents - Teaching materials for parenting courses or life skills Who can apply: 1. Individuals (e.g. midwives, youth workers) with a clear plan 2. Non-profits, community groups, or informal volunteer groups Criteria: 1. Must show direct impact on pregnant teens or young mums under 24 residing in New Zealand 2. Activities must be values-aligned with The House of Grace Trust’s Kaupapa 3. The House of Grace Trust logo and approved wording must be used on advertising. Reporting requirements: 1. A short impact story (written, video, or interview) from the applicant or referrer. 2. Receipts or summary of how the funds were used 3. Optional: a photo/s (with consent) for our publication use e.g. newsletters, website, reports, social media and other publications
Grant process

Grants are open for applications from February through November each year.

All applications are thoughtfully considered by The House of Grace Trust. While we aim to support as many as possible, final decisions are made at the Trust’s discretion.​

Application outcomes will be confirmed in writing within 30 days of submission.

Funds will then be paid directly to providers or reimbursed on proof of cost.
